Kittens

My cat had her kittens today and I can't find them. Frankly, I feel that she isn't being a very responsible mom because she's been wanting to hang out with me all day. She needs to go back to her kittens. It's very stormy and rainy today. Is this normal? Does anyone know anything about kittens? Why isn't she staying with them? She's not hungry, she just wants to "hang out." She's mostly an outside cat, but comes in sometimes. I really wish I could find them. I tried to follow her, but she won't go anywhere.

I think my cat is pregnant too! Ack!

Anyway, I think it is common for cats to 'stash' their kittens away somewhere. Most of the cats we've had hid them somewhere, especially if they were outside cats.

As far as her not seeming concerned...Is this her first litter? I've noticed that some cats aren't very good with their first litter. Some cats aren't good with any of their kittens - ever. It's a shame.

But even good kitty mommies don't spend every minute with their kittens. That is normal.

Just keep a sneaky eye on her. She's probably sneaking off to feed them and you don't even know it. :)
